After becoming possibly the most hated figure in corporate America, CEO of BP has finally quit. I find the entire incident very interesting. BP had a terrible safety record under the leadership of Lord Browne, Hayward inherited it. Unfortunately, since he was a BP man himself, he failed to take the steps needs to change things. Bye bye Tony.
He acted like a rotten kid for most of it. Deserved to go.
ReplyDeleteBring back Browne.
ReplyDeleteHayward was typical of many CEOs that rise through the ranks of a single company, he was very good at understanding how the company worked, but lacked any real knowledge of the world outside.
ReplyDeleteIn the end this is what killed his career.
